For Everything That Is Given

For everything that is given

It is again taken

The sun lends each day its light

And at dusk darkness takes it back

Once again dawn reminds us of hope

Law is given to gravity

But rockets overcome its pull

And barriers made for gender

Still seems in place

Kindness for each other

There seemingly still is hate

When will we finally

Become the human race

Where can one find

Peace for a world at war

For we all can agree

Understanding is the door

Raindrops keep falling

Filling up the seas

Children to be born

A life of poverty

Fossil From Private Collection

This is one of 2114 fossils from my personal collection found in South Carolina

I collect interesting rocks and other artifacts as part of my lifelong study and appreciation for history. Would anyone care to guess what this item is?
