My brief story on how I started my blog
This would be my ninth blog, since blogs begin. This is perhaps the last blog. I  found that WordPress powers the best platform for blogging. I installed it on all of my websites. WordPress provides for me complete control and flexibility for my needs. I started this blog about three years back. I did not do much with it until about two years ago. About one and a half years ago my post were a chronic mix of poetry, photos, and a convoluted mess of thoughts. I had no real direction, no true path, not even a clue about why I wrote anything here. I did not follow anyone nor did I have any followers. My blog was at best a place where I stored “stuff” for my now deleted Facebook page. The FB which I ending up deleting (yes you can delete your FB but it is hard to find out how) was where I posted my stories, quotes, pictures from the road and poetry. I had the max number of friends, on FB which I think was about 3,500. So this blog was where I would go to create, edit and refine my future FB post. But after I deleted my FB account, I turned to WordPress. I initially deleted all the crazy mixed up post and rebuilt it. And even though I went through some growing pains, re-posted some content that still was a group of different irrelevant topics, I finally got a grip on the direction I wanted to go. One day I got a follower! Den169 – Dennis Ference ‘Merging Traffic’  That really opened my world as I looked at his post, followers and realized there was actually more to blogging than I knew. So here I am, here we are. Do not fear. Post the words you are passionate about. This would be my fifth nomination for an award. I can understand why so many sites say they are an “Award Free Zone” because it is very time consuming to answer the various questions a nominator may present. It took me a couple of days to locate bloggers for me to nominate. I wanted to nominate people who never had The Blogger Recognition Award. Hopefully I did my research well. But if I missed my mark comment and select someone else you would nominate instead. Also, there certainly are very many blogs I wanted to include. Honestly I devoted far to much time in making these 15 nominees. Most are followers who made interaction directly with my post this year. Enjoy what you love and write the words from your heart.

THE RULES

  •  Rule 1: Thank the person who nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  • Rule 2: Provide a link to the award creator.
  • Rule 3: Attach the award to your post.
  • Rule 4: Nominate fifteen other bloggers, excluding yourself and the person who nominated you.
  • Rule 5: Write a brief story of how you started your blog.
  • Rule 6: A piece or two of advice to new bloggers.
  • Rule 7: Comment on the blogs you have named here to let them know you have nominated them.

Advice For Bloggers

  • Add a search box to your blog. It makes it easy for readers to find a topic or previous post.
  • Do not be afraid to follow blogs in a language you can not read. That is what transulators are for. Many bloggers are from other cultures, languages, countries. You WILL be surprised of the amazing creativity people from around the world write. NEVER limit your blog to only your native language. Love is what makes the world go ’round… right?
  • ONE MORE THING
CHECK YOUR GRAVATAR! It is the single most important tool you will ever have. Make sure your blog is the first site listed. Fail to do this simple task will earn you few followers which means fewer readers will ever find your post.
  • A Word In Your Gravatar

I could tell you more about me. However, I think you will find us far more interesting, if we share more about ourselves. What do you say?

    1. Thank-you Tosha and you are very welcomed too, my pleasure! YES! you can delete your FB page verses deactivation. It takes 14 days, then another 14 to have the page deleted. It is very difficult to find how to remove all ones FB page and content. But it is possible. Glorious Indeed!

      1. Yes it is. You will REALLY have to dig to FINALLY get to that one page that tells you how to delete FB. It has an email link to an actual person who will respond asking why you want all your information removed. for me, I did not like how FB took control of my every movement, always spying, using MY devices. The data I pay for to keep track of everywhere I went. Removing the messaging app from my phone nearly took a phone call to God. But if one is patient, diligent and tech savvy you can free yourself from the bonds of the all seeing eye of Facebook.

      2. If I can find my notes on where the page link is I will post it. I may even write a post about the how-to of it. I think many people are of the same mindset as yourself. It was just way to much drama in my life for me, which was the crucial foundation for my leaving. Odd thing, I get twitter notices about some supposed activity on FB. When I click on the link it takes me “Page Not Found” or “You Must Be Logged-in to view this content” Nope… not going to do it. LOLZ

  2. Thanks for the nod Wade, I appreciate being included in your 15 nominations here. I’ve been doing less with the awards, but I do feel an appreciation post is in order. Stay tuned. 🙂
