The Twitter Follow Effect
I must wonder if anyone else has wondered about; We all get follower request on @Twitter. We also follow others and follow back too. One interesting topic, at least for me, is how some people will follow you and when you follow them back they some time later un-follow you. Has anyone else noticed it is a numbers game to some?
I get a large number of people who are attempting to follow me, and try to sell me followers. Now, for me, I want people to follow me because I am myself. And like or re-tweet @RT the things that interest me. It is not a numbers game for me.
So therefore I wonder if anyone else has wondered about this topic?
I have wondered about it. There’s a huge business out of this. People who have like tens of thousands of followers can easily sell their accounts or rent their accounts for a good buck. There’s a whole market out of it this is why I only follow people that I am interested in following and rarely use Twitter anyway.

Thank-you Sulfen for your comment. I agree with you on added value to a Twitter account. I am sure Twitter never intended for a user to rent or sell an account. Nevertheless, you make an very valid point.
